More and more food labels are screaming “FAT FREE!” but America’s weight is increasing. What’s going on?
Eating “fat free” has been one of the most popular trends in recent years, but dieters are finding that adding fat to their diets, provided it is the right kind of fat, is helping them lose more weight than avoiding fat.

We all tend to assume that if we lose weight then miraculously we will get healthy as a by product of this. What we should be doing is looking to get healthy first and lose weight naturally as a benefit of doing this. It is ridiculous to say that one diet suits everyone, because clearly that is not the case. The weight loss industry knows this and thrives on it. All of the major players in the weight loss industry are telling you that their diet or product is the answer to your dreams. In my own quest for the nirvana of dieter’s heaven I have tried many diets and products and often become evangelical about them till the next best thing comes along. The next best thing does not exist. The answer has been staring me in the face all along. A sensible eating plan, plus lots of water and exercise leads to better health and a consequence of this is fat loss.

All right. The parties are over and the dishes are put away. The leftovers are gone. It is January 2 and you are just getting up (unless it was YOUR turn to walk the dog…sorry). What is the first thought that comes into your head? Your New Year’s resolution, of course. And I bet it goes like this: “today I start the (fill in the blank) diet, and THIS time it is going to work!”
